Since graduating with a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Sydney in 2009, Sharon has developed more than 15 years of experience across paediatric, hospital and community dietetics. Passionate about helping children and families navigate feeding and nutrition challenges, she has completed the Certificate in Paediatric Nutrition and Dietetics through The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and undertaken specialist training in paediatric feeding, including the SOS Approach to Feeding and responsive feeding.
Sharon recognises that eating is about much more than nutrition alone, with feeding behaviours influenced by sensory processing, emotional regulation, anxiety, development and family dynamics. She has a particular interest in supporting children with feeding challenges associated with neurodevelopmental conditions, anxiety and complex health needs, recognising that successful feeding support often requires a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
show moreShe works closely with children, families and the wider healthcare team to develop practical, evidence-based strategies tailored to each child’s unique strengths, needs and family circumstances. Her compassionate, family-centred approach aims to reduce mealtime stress, build confidence and foster positive relationships with food.
Sharon believes meaningful progress comes from partnering with families and empowering parents with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support their child’s feeding journey both in and beyond the therapy room. She values both individual and group-based therapy, recognising that each provides unique opportunities for learning, confidence-building and social connection. Sharon finds it incredibly rewarding to celebrate the small milestones that help children build confidence with food and enable families to enjoy mealtimes together.
