Josh O’Hara (Psychologist)

Josh is a registered psychologist who began his career in Central West NSW, working in a primary school in Mudgee in 2016. His focus was on behavioural management, ADHD and ASD presentations. He moved to Bathurst in 2018 after transitioning into workplace rehabilitation, where much of his work revolved around PTSD, Adjustment Disorder, Depression, Anxiety and Trauma. In 2020 he relocated to the Gold Coast to work as a clinician for headspace Early Psychosis in the Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team.

Josh has six years of experience in NSW and QLD school and community health settings. He studied psychology at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, graduating in 2016, before completing his honours and thesis on vicarious trauma at the University of New England.

Josh has a passion for working with people from all cultures and diverse backgrounds and utilises a variety of psychological and behavioural interventions, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, among others, to assist people with their mental health concerns.

Josh has experience assessing and managing a range of mental health conditions for people of all ages, including Mood and Adjustment disorders, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD and Trauma, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Psychosis, Personality Disorders, and substance-related disorders.

Josh is experienced in the formal assessment of Intelligence and cognitive functioning, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders and other psychological conditions for children, adolescents, and adults.
