Cancellation & Non-attendance

We highly recommend reading this cancellation notice and Non-attendance policy before making your appointments.


You are required to give at least two business days‘ cancellation notice for your appointment by contacting us through a phone call. So that our administration team can offer your date and time to another child or adolescent and their families, you can avoid Cancellation and Non-attendance by contacting us promptly.

If you do not reply to your SMS reminder and the subsequent phone call and do not confirm your appointment at least two business days before your consultation, your appointment would be cancelled and offered to another family, and the late cancellation fee will apply.

Family Nurture does not accept Cancellations and Rescheduling by SMS or email. You’re required to contact the clinic by phone call.

We highly recommend contacting us as soon as you think you might not be able to attend your booked appointment.

The following cancellation fees apply if you cancel your appointment and give less than two business days’ notice: (weekends and public holidays are not business days; for an appointment at 9 am on Monday, you require cancelling it before 9 am on Thursday)

  • Our administration team members try their best to offer your cancelled appointment to another family. If they can do it, you will be charged a $70 cancellation fee; otherwise, a $400 cancellation fee will apply for new patients with our psychiatrist, and a $150 cancellation fee will apply for new patients for other practitioners.
  • A $200 cancellation fee for 30-minute appointments and a $350 cancellation fee for 45-minute appointments will apply for patients currently receiving care from our psychiatrists, and a $100 cancellation fee will apply for patients currently receiving care from other practitioners.

Our administration team will not offer you an appointment until you fully pay these cancellation fees.


The following cancellation fees apply if you cancel your appointment on the same day: (cancellation after 3 pm for the next day will be considered as same day cancellation, as it will not give enough time to our administration to offer the time to another family)

  • A full consultation fee will apply if you cancel your appointment on the same day or do not attend it.
  • Our administration team will not offer you an appointment until you fully pay these cancellation fees.
  • Should a patient incur two cancellation fees, they must pay for all future consultations in advance and collect their Medicare rebate after the session.
  • If you fail to attend your confirmed appointment, the administration team will charge you a non-attendance fee equal to a full consultation fee.

You will not be eligible for Medicare rebates for the non-attendance and cancellation fees. If you have any concerns regarding our Cancellation notice and Non-attendance policy, please discuss it with the clinic before making your appointment. Upon making an appointment, you fully confirm your agreement with this policy.

Patients who regularly cancel their appointments risk being referred back to their GP for ongoing care.
