Choice and Medication
The Choice and Medication website offers patients information about mental health conditions and the treatments available to help them make informed decisions about choosing the right medicine.
Family Nurture got a subscription to this website to be used by young people and their families accessing the clinic. Besides the consultation sessions’ information about medications, this website aims to provide adolescents, adults, families, and carers with resources and information about psychotropic medicines used to treat mental illnesses. Family Nurture wants to ensure you have access to reliable and easy-to-understand information. Please read the relevant sheets and discuss any questions with your psychiatrist.
NPS MedicineWise
NPS MedicineWise was established in 1998 as the National Prescribing Service (NPS) Limited. Through two decades of continuous national leadership and services provided in the health sector, NPS MedicineWise committed to supporting quality use of medicines to improve health decisions and health and economic outcomes in Australia.
As of 1 January 2023, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) is now responsible for several Quality Use of Medicines functions that were formerly delivered by NPS MedicineWise. This follows the redesign of the Quality Use of Diagnostics, Therapeutics and Pathology Program outlined in the 2022-23 Federal Budget.
The Commission now hosts this website and will continue to support access to resources and materials previously developed by NPS MedicineWise. For more information, please read here.
